After hardening, a safety glass pane is tempered using a universal testing machine GALDABINI Quasar 50 kN. The glass pane is bent on a 4-point bending device until it bursts in order to determine the remaining toughness. If the hardening is too high, the pane will break prematurely (through hardening / too little residual toughness). The load is applied as the rate of stress increase (force / sample cross-section).
