You can book an GALDABINI - universal testing machine / Tensile testing machine can be used for all quasi-static tests (tensile test, compression test, bending test, cyclic tests). By upgrading a Quasar universal testing machine, it becomes a tensile testing machine / compression testing machine / bending testing machine.
In order to be able to use a universal testing machine universally, several testing tools are often required. In order to keep the time required for conversion to a minimum, QUASAR universal testing machines equipped with a pin system. A clamping tool with a bushing (female) is placed on the pin (male), locked with a locking pin and locked with a lock nut to prevent kickback in the event of sample breakage or play. The lock is particularly important when tests are carried out with a force zero crossing.

clamping equipment for schools, vocational schools, universities
inexpensive wedge screw clamps THS527-20 / threaded head clamping device
We supply a suitable clamping device (also for third-party manufacturers and all types of universal testing machinesWe would be happy to select a suitable clamping device for you. For this we may need existing standards/extracts from standards with a description of the sample/test specimen. You are also welcome to send us your samples for assessment. However, a photo of the test specimens is usually sufficient (if possible with a scale/ruler shown in the photo). If you want to make a selection yourself or just want to take a look, you will find a download link here to download a ZIP file from our server. Tensile test on hardened sheets with strengths of 1500 to 2000 MPa
The modern technology of press hardening presents the automotive industry with increasing challenges. The tensile specimens for these tests are
a.) extremely hard (requires a clamping device with hydraulic external force clamping)
b.) extremely short because it is taken from 3D parts (A-pillar / B-pillar / sill / crumple zone). The following (short / extremely short) sample shapes are common:
– tensile test ISO 6892-1 or DIN 50125 – Type A50 (total length 165 mm / width in the measuring length 12,5 mm (essentially corresponds to the tensile test specimen according to ASTM type 1/2 inch)
– non-standardized tensile test specimen (based on ISO 6892-1 or DIN 50125) type A30 (total length 130 mm / width in the measuring length 5 mm (almost corresponds to the tensile test specimen according to ASTM type “subsize” length 100 mm
For this challenge, GALDABINI has developed the unique gripping device shown here for extremely hard and short tensile specimens (suitable for tensile strengths up to 2200 MPa with a shortest length Lt 100 mm
