Technovit® 4002 IQ – The absolutely gap- and shrink-free 2-component plastic
Material properties:
Technovit® 4002 IQ is based on a modified polyester, consisting of either a fast or a slow powder component (different curing and dripping times) and a liquid.
Application:
The areas of application extend across the entire range of materials with a wide variety of geometric shapes where high quality in terms of edge gap, grinding and polishing behavior is required.
2 powder components:
For an even wider range of applications
Technovit 4002 IQ white – (slow powder approx. 12 – 17 min.), provides sufficient drip time e.g. for infiltrating porous surfaces
Technovit 4002 IQ green – (faster powder approx. 9 – 15 min.), serves for more efficient sample preparation and enables time savings.
Both powder variants can be easily wetted, thus creating a homogeneous mass without air inclusions.

Sandpaper is a thing of the past – today you can grind better and more cheaply with diamond / SiC grinding wheels
diamond grinding pads
are suitable for materials with a hardness >40 HRC (soft materials see SiC grinding pad). The diamond grinding and polishing grain is in Plastic bound. As the plastic is removed, fresh diamond grains are constantly released and ensure that the pad remains sharp until it is finally used up. As soon as the final wear limit is reached, the light background becomes visible. The diamond grinding pads are "closed" when delivered and must be opened with a dressing stone / honing stone before first use. After that, they are permanently sharp.
A diamond grinding pad can replace up to 500 or even 1000 sandpapers and is therefore significantly cheaper than sandpaper. You also save yourself the constant changing of the abrasive (sandpaper is used up after about 30 seconds).
Expect more: The rigid surface prevents the edges from rounding (no warping like with sandpaper). The edges are sharper and the grinding pattern is smoother. No lubricant is required - grinding and polishing is done using only water. The plastic is applied to a stable, magnetic steel plate with a smooth back: suitable for clamping systems with magnetic foil. (alternatively with a smooth back for adhesive systems (CATCHY / GECKO).
SiC grinding pads
... for materials with a hardness <40 HRC we recommend using SiC sanding pads. If (contrary to experience) soft material (cast iron, aluminum, copper, etc.) closes the pores, the pad can be cleaned with a nail brush + fresh water (on the sander). Cost advantage: approx. 200 - 500 sandpapers
