Based on experience since 1993, METKON has completely redesigned the FORCIPOL series. The modular system now allows for more individualized fulfillment of customer requirements. Even if you start with a basic configuration, this system easily grows with your increasing demands for sample throughput or polished section quality, and can be equipped with additional components. In its highest configuration (FORCIPOL 202 with FORCIMAT 102 and DOSIMAT 102), you receive a premium system characterized by exceptionally smooth operation, ergonomic handling, and automated preparation sequences – a perfect setup for… rational preparation of cuts in the Metallography: First-class cuts – guaranteed. FORCIPOL grinding and polishing machines are suitable for discs Ø 200 | 250 | 300 mm. Choose a basic control (illustration) or a combination of control with sample mover for the base unit type 102 or 202 FORCIMAT and optionally a dosing dispenser.
Which base unit 1 / 2 discs?
The advantage of one Grinding machine polishing machine with two discs is that a distinction can be made between a grinding area and a polishing area. This prevents contamination from the sample grinding from entering the polishing area. If required, 2 sample holders (with quick-change system) can be supplied for the sample mover, for example - the grinding and polishing areas are operated with separate systems and grinding particles no longer get into the polishing stages.
What are the advantages of a sample mover?
Even if the sample throughput does not require rationalization: With the sample mover FORCIMAT the precision of the sections is better than is possible with manual preparation: planer grinding (plane parallelism of the embedding is retained), the edge sharpness of the sections and sample coatings is improved.
cost limitation
If you want to limit the investment volume (device with only one disc), a quick-change system for consumables is a good option. You can switch between the abrasives and the polishing cloths in a matter of seconds (polishing cloths glued to quick-change sheet metal supports). Adhesive systems (plastic contact disc with adhesive surface) or magnetic systems are available as quick-change systems.

Whenever samples have to be of a high quality after preparation or manual grinding and polishing of the samples is no longer possible due to the required throughput, the automatic sample mover FORCIMAT 52 or 102 shows its strengths: The flatness and edge sharpness of the prepared samples is excellent and up to 6 samples can be processed simultaneously. The automatic sample mover FORCIMAT is mounted on a rigid, hardened column. This is firmly screwed to the base group of the FORCIPOL grinding and polishing machine. The grinding head is easy to position thanks to the quick-locking mechanism.
The sample holder can accommodate up to 6 samples simultaneously. The FORCIMAT 52 is equipped with a single-pressure system, allowing for grinding of a single sample (without a dummy sample). The FORCIMAT 102 additionally features a central pressure system. The grinding head drives the sample holder ring via a 100-watt DC motor at a speed of 50–150 RPM. The pneumatic single-pressure force can be easily adjusted on the front panel between 5 and 60 N. The set force is displayed on a pressure gauge for monitoring purposes. The housing is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) and can be easily operated using the quick-start system (select function, turn, press). A wide selection of easily interchangeable sample holders with various spacer rings for diameters from 25–50 mm (1″–2″) is available for the device.
The speed, direction of rotation and grinding or polishing time are set on the control of the FORCIPOL grinding and polishing machine. As soon as the start button is pressed, the FORCIMAT sample mover and FORCIPOL grinding and polishing machine start together. After the preparation step has been completed, both components stop automatically and an acoustic signal sounds for the operator.
