Description MICRACUT 202
programmable travel cut + cross cut
The MICRACUT 202 consists of a precise, heavy aluminum die-cast housing that forms a stable and low-vibration base for the precision components and linear guide. The separation chamber is completely enclosed. The protective cover is secured with an electrical lock. A powerful DC motor (speed 300 to 4.000 rpm) enables high-speed separations or separation at low speeds. Larger and longer samples can be separated using the integrated moving table. A variety of sample clamps can be fixed on the T-slot table. A motorized X-axis table (positioning precision approx. 5 µm) is available as an option. An optional vacuum sample holder (together with a diamond cup grinding stone) enables predefined material removal from samples for thin sectioning.
The driving cut and the cross-cut axes are in this cutting machine motor-driven. If the X-table for parallel cuts is selected in the motorized version, all 3 axes can be positioned using the joystick. At the start position, press the joystick button and the start position is saved and the separating cut can begin.
All sample holders for the MICRACUT precision cutting machine can be combined with a dovetail holder. This means that samples can be fixed in the holders outside the machine and inserted quickly and easily using the dovetail adapter. The universal sample holder is the most commonly used clamping device. The cutting disc can be adjusted in height (Z-axis) by up to 45 mm. Diamond and CBN cutting discs as well as abrasive cutting discs up to Ø < 200 mm can be used. Various flange sets, clamping tools and accessories are available for a wide variety of sample geometries and applications. You can find details in the PDF.
The MICRACUT 202 offers the most advanced technology and software settings that can be configured in a flash. Using the LCD touch screen, cutting parameters can be created, saved and changed during operation in the SIEMENS control system.
Cutting parameters: These can include the starting position, the travel path, feed rate (0,005 - 5 mm / sec.) and a cutting force limit. The feed rate is automatically adjusted by the cutting force limit and, if necessary, reduced in order to obtain perfect cuts and prevent damage to the sample.
Multiple parallel separations: The optional motorized X-axis table enables (programmable) parallel cuts to obtain, for example, a certain number of slices of the same (or different) thickness.
Parameter sets can be saved: The SIEMENS control system enables the programming and storage of up to 99 different separation programs that can be saved under individual names (e.g. product name / article number). These can contain all the required separation parameters and can be conveniently called up. The data of the METKON Consumables stored.

The MICRACUT 152 can be equipped with a Diamond cutting disc up to 150 mm diameter and a speed between 0 - 1000 rpm. The weight loading system minimizes the deformation of the material to be separated because the user can precisely adjust the force applied. The integrated micrometer screw allows the sample to be placed precisely with a resolution of up to 1 micron. The coolant container is accessible from the front. This makes cleaning easier. The user is informed by an acoustic signal when the separation process has ended. The entire separation area of the MICRACUT 151 is covered with a transparent hood.
Optionally, a cutting wheel sharpening system (dressing the diamond cutting wheel) or, for example, a cutting table extension for the manual cutting of large electronic circuit boards are available.
