NEMESIS 9100RS Rockwell – hardness testers at reference level
All Rockwell test forces and up to 3000 kp (Brinell)
The Rockwell NEMESIS 9100RRS hardness testers represent the highest level of development in Rockwell hardness testing machines and boast an extremely short testing cycle. They feature modern, innovative technology and are capable of testing all Rockwell hardness values.Hardness testing method to be carried out with the highest accuracy. The user receives information about the test procedure in graphical form (force/time diagram and other messages) during the test. hardness testing method with depth difference measurement method

The NEMESIS 9000RS has a very rigid linear lowering test head with a load cell. This can be done in two different ways: After starting, the test head automatically detects the test piece. Optionally, the user can lower the test head manually. This can be done at maximum manual speed or in crawling gear.
Jominy hardness test with automatic test sequence
The cross table can accommodate 3 Jominy samples. The test procedure is fully automatic
At the Jominy experiment (face quenching test) the hardenability of steels is tested. For this purpose, a cylindrical sample with a diameter of 25 mm and a length of 100 is produced. After a normalization annealing process intended for this material, this sample is heated to the intended hardening temperature. When this temperature is reached (also in the core), the test specimen is removed from the annealing furnace within 5 seconds, clamped vertically in a device and quenched on the lower face for > 10 minutes with a 20 ° C water jet. Starting at the face, the hardening process now begins through quenching. Since the test specimen is only cooled from one side, hardening occurs unevenly from the irradiated face (hard) towards the opposite side (soft).
In order to check this hardening process, this cylinder is ground flat on one side by approx. 0,5 mm. On this flat surface, starting at the quenched front side, hardness test impressions are made in steps of e.g. 1,5 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 11 - 13 - 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 mm and the hardness is determined. To reduce the preparation effort, this is done using the Rockwell hardness test method (alternatively Vickers). For evaluation, these hardness values are shown in a hardness / displacement diagram.
