hardness tester Vickers Automat FALCON 500 G2
The all-round Vickers tester – from manual to fully automatic
Mikro- / Kleinstkraft- / Makro Vickers – Vickers testers FALCON 500, top in quality + price
The Vickers testers FALCON 500 were developed for professional use in the field of Micro-Vickers / Macro-Vickers and Micro-Brinell Hardness testing. The device improves on conventional hardness testing and is designed to reduce operator influence on test results. The unique test load application system includes an electronically controlled "closed loop" force application and excellent force sensor technology. This guarantees absolute accuracy, reliability and repeatability for all test forces used.
In addition to this advanced electromechanical force loading system, this Vickers hardness tester a superior quality of the mechanical and optical components and makes it the reference device in this class. The innovative software function of the IMPRESSIONS workflow control enables the storage of the results, the creation and storage of test programs with the integration of the functions zoom, autofocus, limit value monitoring, conversion to other hardness scales, system setup and (automatic) control. For easy handling, test sequences are created and called up in order to be able to easily process hardness curves (CHD / Nht / Rht). The fully automatic image evaluation - combined with intuitive operator software - avoids operating and evaluation errors and prevents the test results from being influenced. The heart of the device is a powerful, embedded microprocessor control (boxed PC) that does not contain any wearing parts (SSD hard drive, no fans). All components are installed in a dust-proof housing. If this system should ever fail, it can be replaced within a few minutes.

FALCON 500 Vickers tester in 9 variants
electronically controlled test forces – load cell 1g – 62,5kg
Option (Automation): Typical test pieces that can be tested automatically (with regular testing)
The program enables the configuration, storage, loading and deletion of individual test sequences. Create standard test templates or test your workpieces with individualized sequences and save them under an individual name or number. This function reduces test preparation and reduces the likelihood of incorrect operation / evaluation. All specific settings for the respective test task or workpiece and the test procedure, lens, test pattern, etc. are saved on the integrated box PC.
overview camera and autofocus / auto-brightness
The optional overview & full view autofocus zoom camera with additional surface lighting enables a perfect overview or detailed view of individual or multiple test pieces. The combination of the zoom functions for overview views in conjunction with the excellent measuring optics of the 6-way turret head enables amazingly variable fields of view from 60µm to 200mm. The unique technology enables full view images or detailed views of segments that can be used as an image in the test certificate.
The IMPRESSIONS – Click + Go – function enables the test position to be determined with a simple mouse click. This position determination is used by the motorized high-speed cross table to position the test piece perfectly under the indenter / measuring optics.

Individual test programs / test sequences (test sequences option – automation)
Individual measurements:
This function allows you to place a test impression wherever you want. This function can be started under the normal measuring optics or under the overview camera.
Series measurements:
One or more test series can be recorded with positioning via a coordinate system. This function can be started under the normal measuring optics or under the overview camera.
CHD/Nht/Rht measurements:
For the standard-compliant execution of hardness curves to determine the CHD (EHT), Nht and Rht hardness depths. This function can be started under the normal measuring optics or under the overview camera. In addition, test impressions can be set for measuring the core hardness in order to measure the Nht nitriding hardness depth in a test sequence.
Modern, advanced turret head with 6 positions (standard equipment)
The modular, motorized high-speed turret head with up to 6 positions automatically swivels into the required position. The correct lens is selected automatically depending on the indenter used or the test method loaded. The turret can be equipped as required: with 1 or 2 indenters (penetration devices) in combination with a maximum of 4 lenses of your choice.

Dynamic Z-axis height adjustment and auto-focusing are standard features
The intelligent precision height adjustment of the test piece (support table) is standard equipment for the entire FALCON series. The two arrow keys enable extremely fast pre-positioning; the scroll wheel supports step-by-step fine adjustment to the focus plane. Depending on the active optics or magnification, this height adjustment works at different speeds and with different sensitivity. Since the speed of the adjustment reacts depending on the rotation speed of the scroll wheel, this function is unrivalled in its ease of use.
* All FALCON models are equipped with auto-focusing system!
For the Vickers hardness test, metallographic sample preparation is required. Equipment for metallography can be found here.
