microhardness tester Vickers FALCON 400 G2

Simple and compact – the quick and easy solution

The most innovative technology in its simplest form

Within the FALCON 400 Micro series Vickers, Knoop and Micro-Brinell it is a new generation of hardness testers which serve to improve conventional hardness testing and are suitable for eliminating operator influences on the test results. The unique test force loading system includes an electronic control in a closed loop and sensor technology with force feedback to achieve absolute accuracy and reproducibility at every test force level. In addition to this advanced, electromechanical force application, the FALCON is equipped with first-class mechanical and optical components. The innovative software functions of the I-Touch™ "workflow control" enable the storage of results, creation and storage of test programs with integrated result limitation, conversion to other hardness scales and curvature corrections for non-flat test surfaces. The digital / optical hardness indentation measurement, combined with intuitive operator software, minimizes operator influence on the test results.

The rock-solid machine frame, which can withstand the toughest requirements, is protected by impact- and scratch-resistant plastic panels. These prevent damage to sensitive machine components and ensure long-lasting, damage-free use. Even falling test pieces can Plastic nothing. And if damage does occur, the plastic covers are easy and inexpensive to replace. The heart of the device consists of a powerful, embedded microprocessor control that contains no wearing parts (no mechanically moving parts). If this system should ever fail, it can be replaced within a few minutes.

Amazing test load range

Amazing test load range:
0.001kgf (1gf) to 31.25kgf
using a force measuring cell in a closed control loop: “Closed Loop”

Electronically controlled test loads ensure fast and precise force application and quick selection of other test loads (scales). A quick touch on the touchscreen monitor enables the selection of the appropriate test method and accelerates the automatic fine focusing for all integrated optics and indenters.

turret hardness tester FALCON 400
turret hardness tester FALCON 400

The precise mechanics of the motorized turret head allow extremely fast and quiet turret positioning. The change between indenter and objective is part of the automatic test sequence. The turret head can be equipped with up to 6 positions: with up to 2 indenters + 4 objectives - for all requirements.

collision protection system
The FALCON 400 are equipped with lenses with a long working distance (LWD) - which minimizes the risk of collision with the test piece. Should a collision occur, a warning message appears and the machine is automatically stopped. In this case, the electronic / mechanical safety system prevents any further load or only allows the load to be released to avoid damage or injury. A unique system - only on INNOVATEST – FALCON machines are available.

Graphical User Interface – I-Touch ™

The I-Touch™ software version with its clever multi-function keys for testing, setting up, saving and opening test programs, statistical evaluation and more makes testing operations as easy as possible. The large 7,5" full-color industrial touchscreen offers even more comfort and ease of use. Since the display with intelligent user interface is mounted in a table housing, it can be flexibly operated either to the right or left of the machine (right- or left-handed). The inclination of the monitor can be freely adjusted and is therefore ideally configured for standing or sitting operation with different viewing angles.

Result exports (single or series measurements) can be saved on a USB stick with a single keystroke or fully automatically after the measurement or transferred to a PC via cable. The results can then be evaluated and processed in MS Office applications such as WORD / EXCEL or other software. The range of functions also includes an advanced statistics function, a curvature correction for convex, concave or spherical sample surfaces, a hardness conversion in Rockwell, Brinell or tensile strength according to ASTM E140 and ISO 18625 with different material tables. For the researchers among us there is the additional option of KiC fracture

Control + Evaluation IMPRESSIONS XT
Control + Evaluation IMPRESSIONS XT

Indentation measurement software (image analysis), also known as "hardness testing automation", is often very complex, both in terms of operation and in terms of operation. IMPRESSIONS™ has broken this rule: it offers unprecedented simplicity in operation - but contains the most advanced functions known in hardness testing. Only minimal operating knowledge is required - IMPRESSIONS™ guides you through the operating process - after just a few seconds you will grasp the intuitive operating concept and explore the functions in just a few minutes. IMPRESSIONS is optimized for the evaluation of Macro-Vickers, Micro-Vickers Knoop & Brinell test indentations according to ISO, ASTM and JIS.

The optional IMPRESSIONS XT – Premium version includes a high-precision, large, motorized XY table.
