The pendulum impact tester IMPACT supports all common notched bar impact bending, impact bending and impact tensile tests of all standards and procedures (Charpy / IZOD). During the test, the impact energy consumed is determined and the toughness is displayed. The standards differentiate between different potential energies through different hammer shapes (including additional weights), pendulum lengths and release angles as well as different sample supports / clampings, sample geometries (notched, unnotched, dimensions, shape). The absorbed energy is determined at the end of the impact movement by recording the angle of inclination of the hammer.

Charpy impact bending test

The rectangular specimen is placed horizontally on two supports and broken by the falling motion of the hammer. The point of impact is located centrally between the supports

Izod impact test

The rectangular specimen is clamped vertically in a specimen clamp at one end. The pendulum hammer hits the free-standing end of the specimen and breaks it off on one side

impact tensile test

The head of the dumbbell-shaped tensile specimen is placed in the specimen holder. The pendulum hammer tears the tensile specimen lengthwise within a fraction of a second

The PC connection enables the recording and management of the tests. In the PC software, the operator can enter the test data in a simplified manner (compared to the control console), save it, display it and carry out a statistical evaluation of the mean value and standard deviation of up to 20 samples.
