In contrast to the NEMESIS 9000 series, these newly developed in 2012 Hardness testing machines with a clamping cap The turret head is protected behind this hold-down device / collision protection. This offers the possibility of clamping the workpiece and thus also enables hardness tests on test pieces that require clamping (especially Rockwell.) The NEXUS Series 8000 can be used for all hardening methods of the usual standards: Rockwell, Super Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers and Knoop. In addition, hardness tests on plastics can be carried out using the ball pressure method and the special methods based on the Vickers (HVT) and Brinell (HBT) cupping principle. Three models with the following test load ranges are available:
- NEMESIS 9501: Test loads between 1 – 250 kgf
- NEMESIS 9502: Test loads between 3 – 750 kgf
- NEMESIS 9503: Test loads between 10 – 3000 kgf
High-quality mechanical components were used in the device and it includes an electronic loading system with a force measuring cell and a force control in a closed control loop. The device is operated almost entirely via the advanced IMPRESSIONS user interface. This system controls the automatic test sequences and evaluates the test impressions. Many functions are already integrated in the system, such as fully automatic hardness-indentation measurement (image processing) and result storage, etc. The integrated camera with zoom function guarantees fast and accurate, user-independent Vickers and Brinell measurements.
